Latest Figures released this week have confirmed that the demand on Smartpones and Android allied to the fading recession have seen the once fragile Mobile Phones market bounce back in positive territory. The figures show that in the first 3 months of 2010 the manufacturers have seen their sales grow by over 21% shipping almost 300 million units over the same period. The single biggest factor is said to be the consumers demand for internet enabled mobile phones with email , twitter and facebook topping the list of intended use.
The figures also highlighted where the highest growth areas were and note unsurprisingly it pointed out that the Asia was the biggest driving force with China being the main player again with its massive demand for new low cost gadget filled mobiles and touchscreen devices. Europe also grew this quarter once again thanks to smartphones and Blackberrys however, the United States’ markets declined slightly. The report carried on to say that if it were not for Google’s Nexus One the figures would have been much worse.
Further comments were made about the dominance of Smartphones in the current market with Research In Motion (RIM) , the manufactures of Balckberry Phones moving into the top five manufacturers ( replacing Motorola ) for the first time with sales of 10.6M handsets.
